If you would like to participate in KS elections, you'll need to register to vote with the Kansas Secretary of State. You can also submit your voter registration through the Kansas Division of Vehicles when you apply for a driver's license or ID or change your address.
NOTE: Be sure to re-register to vote every time you change your name, address, or party affiliation.
To register to vote in Kansas, you must:
Be a U.S. citizen.
Be a resident of Kansas.
Be at least 17 years old (and 18 years old by Election Day to vote).
NOT be disqualified to vote by a court, due to mental incompetence.
NOT be registered to vote in another state.
NOT be incarcerated, on parole or on probation for a felony conviction.*
*Once your period of supervised release is completed you will need to re-register to vote.
You can register to vote online, by mail, by fax, or inperson at your Kansas county election office or local KS driver services office.
You must register to vote at least 21 days before the election to be able to participate.
To register using the online system in Kansas, you must have:
A Kansas driver's license or non-driver ID card.
Proof of your U.S. residency, if registering for the first time.

Enter your personal information.
Submit proof of your U.S. citizenship in the any of the following ways:
Upload your scanned citizenship document (PDF format) at the end of the online process.
Mail, fax, e-mail, or hand-deliver a copy of your citizenship document to your local county election office.
