All students wanting/needing financial aid for schooling beyond high school should complete the FAFSA. Also, most colleges will not award financial aid if you have not completed the FAFSA. It is through the FAFSA that a student becomes eligible for the Pell Grant (up to apx. $6,000), Work Study and Federal student loans (these have low interest rates.) The first step is to get a FSA ID for both the student and parent.
A Financial Aid meeting for the Class of 2024 Seniors will be Wednesday, January 10 from 6:00-8:00pm at the high school auditorium. If your child is considering attending any type of secondary institution after high school this meeting will give you a jump start towards completing your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Financial aid representatives from Southwestern College and Cowley College will be available during this time.
The student will need to create a FAFSA User ID account.
Contributors (parents/guardians/financial supporters of student) will need to have a FAFSA User ID account.
Students will begin the FAFSA and fill out their portion of the form. Once completed, FAFSA will send an invite via email to the parents/contributor(s) to add their information.
