Gifted educators, general educators, parents, and students should work together as a TEAM with a common vision to appropriately meet the diverse needs of all students. A “Gifted Student” is not only “gifted” when he/she is with the Gifted Facilitator. Differentiation methods specifically designed for gifted and high achieving students happens in the general education classroom so they may continue to be intellectually challenged at all times.
The Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is defined as a written statement for each student with an exceptionality which describes that student’s educational program and is developed, reviewed, and revised in accordance with special education laws and regulations. The IEP describes and guides services for each student on an individual basis.
