Summary

& Explanation

Civil Engineering

Civil engineering deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of aspects of the physical, built environment. It is one of the oldest branches of engineering. It has been around since the first time someone built a road system or constructed a house. Civil engineering deals with a broad range of projects ranging from large infrastructure to complicated networks. Common projects that civil engineers take on include constructing bridges, roads, dams, irrigation networks, sewage systems, etc.

Building Science

Building Science focuses on the analysis of circumstances that could be affecting a physical building or structure. This science uses physics, engineering, architecture, chemistry, and the life sciences to generate a greater understanding of the physical behavior of a building. In order to create high-quality structures, things like energy efficiency, durability, and air quality must be taken into consideration.
