You will notices that I often include videos on the web page to supplement class notes and the textbook. But what should you do with them?
First, look at the topics and watch them when we've talk about the topic in class. I will try to remind you to do this, but you should be checking on your own as well. You can also use them as a preview for material that you can tell from the learning objectives is coming up in the near future.
Key things to do when trying to learn from a video:
Put away all distractions
No, people cannot multitask well.
Write down questions
If something prompts a question that you would ask in class, write it down and ask me the next time that you see me.
Pause and rewind
Videos are great. They will repeat exactly what was said as many times as you need.
Write lecture notes
Actively engage with the material and write down notes just as if it were a live classroom.
