About Mr. Jenkins:
Jeffrey Jenkins graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics (which is a major that I sometimes tell people that I settle on after looking through the catalog for the longest degree) and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. After Penn, I went to graduate school at Princeton University where I studied full-time for 2 years. I decided that my love for being in the classroom and focusing on teaching was better geared towards the classroom. I worked as a public school technology aide and high school physics and chemistry teacher while completing my thesis. I graduated from Princeton in 1999 and went back to the University of Pennsylvania where I earned a Master of Science in Education in 2000.
Over the last 23 years, I have taught Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Honors Physics, AP Physics Mechanics, and AP Physics Electricity and Magnetism. I have coached water polo as assistant varsity coach, head middle school coach, and head varsity coach. Since 2008, I have coached robotics, working with FIRST Tech Challenge and FIRST Robotics Competition. I am currently working with MOE 365 The Miracle Workerz and hope to help start an FTC team at Ursuline.
