WHAT IS WASFA?

Washington State offers financial aid programs to students who are not eligible for federal financial aid because of immigration status. These students still need to meet other program requirements.

Washington State offers financial aid programs to students who are not eligible for federal financial aid because of immigration status. To determine eligibility, the student will answer three Eligibility Questions when clicking on the WASFA New User Account link. If eligibility is met, then the application program will allow the student to "Create New Account" for the WASFA Application.

IMPORTANT! SENIORS COMPLETE THIS STEP IMMEDIATELY AFTER OCTOBER 1, 2021 | For current CHS seniors who are not eligible for federal financial aid because of immigration status, you will complete the

  • 2022-23 WASFA Form if you plan to attend college Fall 2022.

For current CHS juniors who aren't eligible for federal financial aid because of immigration status, you will complete the:

  • 2023-24 WASFA Form after October 1, 2022.

    • 2022-23 WASFA Form if you plan to attend college Fall 2022.

Which WASFA application year should I fill out?

  • Complete the 2021-22 WASFA application if you are planning on being enrolled in college (as a new student or continuing student) in fall term 2021 through spring term 2022.

  • Complete the 2022-23 WASFA if you are planning on being enrolled in college in fall term 2022 through spring term 2023. The 2022-23 application will become available on October 1, 2021.

  • Planning on taking courses in the summer? Please check with the college you will be attending to confirm which application you need to complete if you are enrolling in summer sessions.
