CHS Varsity Letter in Community Service
CHS students who volunteer an additional 150 hours or more of approved volunteer/community service from May 1, 2024 through April 30, 2025 may be eligible to earn a CHS Varsity Letter... the same letters as those earned by athletes and musicians. The 150 hours are in addition to each grade level's required volunteer hours.
STUDENTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS (NO EXCEPTIONS ALLOWED):
Must be a Curtis High School student in grade 9, 10, 11 or 12
Must meet the 2.0 GPA minimum requirement (cumulative GPA end of first semester 2024/2025)
All volunteer/community service hours must be ENTERED in XELLO no later than April 30th, 2025
ALL hours must meet the required CHS volunteer/community service guidelines for approved activities (Found on the volunteer page)
Students are required to submit the online CHS VARSITY LETTER IN COMMUNITY SERVICE APPLICATION no later than 11:59pm on May 1st, 2025. The online form will be available by April 1st. (Students will need to use their UPSD83 email address to access the application.)
NOTE: Students who apply for the CHS Varsity Letter in Community Service will automatically be considered for the CHS Service Award in Community Service. (These students are not required to complete the CHS Service Award in Community Service application.)
CHS Service Excellence Award
Students who volunteer an additional 80 hours or more of approved volunteer/community service in a year may be eligible to earn a CHS Volunteer Service Award.
STUDENTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS (NO EXCEPTIONS ALLOWED):
Must be a Curtis High School student in grade 9, 10, 11 or 12
Must meet the 2.0 GPA minimum requirement (cumulative GPA end of first semester 2024/2025)
All volunteer/community service hours must be ENTERED in XELLO no later than April 30, 2025
Must complete 80 volunteer/community service hours or more in between May 1, 2024 through April 30, 2025 in addition to the grade level's required hours
ALL hours must meet the required CHS volunteer/community service guidelines for approved activities (Found on the volunteer page)
After May 1st, 2025, a FINAL REVIEW and FINAL APPROVAL will be completed by the CCRC to re-verify that all volunteer hours meet the guideline requirements for approved activities
Students are required to submit the online CHS VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARD APPLICATION no later than 11:59pm on May 1st, 2025 (Students will use their UPSD83 email address to access the application.)
Students who apply for the CHS Varsity Letter in Community Service will automatically be considered for the CHS Volunteer Service Award. (These students are not required to complete the CHS Volunteer Service Award Application.)
