Staff Expectations

Distance learning may result in changes to how staff compete the scope of their work. Those changes are outlined in more detail in our MOU.
Below is a brief outline of the expectations for staff who directly impact teaching and learning.

Administrators

  • Send coordinated communication to the school community with updates, announcements, and other information

  • Hold virtual staff meetings

  • Join classes (asynchronous and synchronous)

  • Monitor student absences

  • Provide professional learning based on staff needs

  • Complete employee evaluations

Counselors and Wellness Center

  • Be available during Office Hours and other times to meet/work with students

  • Continue providing services to student caseloads utilizing online video conferencing platform/Google Meet (HIPAA compliant)

  • Monitor student academic performance and attendance

Librarians/Library Technicians

  • Connect with educators to provide resources for lesson development such as databases and other materials educators can include in their lessons

  • Offer support sessions during office hours

  • Promote literacy

Nurses

  • Develop health plans

  • Conduct assessments

  • Provide health consultation on an as needed basis Participate in IEP and 504 meetings

Paraprofessionals

  • Attend all class sessions

  • Provide support to students

  • Work with general education teacher to ensure accommodations are in place for students on caseload

Psychologists

  • Conduct assessments to the maximum extent possible

  • Provide office hours for students and staff

  • Communicate with families on your caseload

Reading Specialists

  • Provide small group targeted reading instruction

  • Collaborate with teachers to provide literacy resources and supports

  • Monitor student reading data via iReady and other reading assessments

  • Communicate with families

Special Education Related Service Providers (OTs, SLPs, SLPA’s, ERMHS)

  • Provide IEP required support to students. Support may utilize one on one and small group synchronous meetings using online video conferencing platform/Google Meet

  • Communicate with families on your caseload

Special Education Teachers

  • Monitor all students on your caseload

  • Provide office hours for families, students and teachers

  • Teach grade level standards

  • Collaborate with general education teachers as appropriate

  • Maintain regular communication with families of students on your caseload

Teachers

  • Teach grade level/department standards and differentiate instruction based on student needs

  • Facilitate IEPs

  • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences using evidence-based teaching strategies

  • Assess student progress

  • Maintain regular communication with families about grades and student progress and respond to communication from families within 48 hours during the normal work week

  • Continue grade level/department/course-a-like collaboration

  • Maintain attendance

  • Adhere to district safety guidelines

Teachers on Special Assignment (Professional Learning TOSAs)

  • Support staff with lesson design and delivery

  • Provide professional learning for staff

  • Support and model the use of teaching and learning tools and techniques

  • Support site administrators with schoolwide goals

Technicians

  • Monitor the Help Desk and Tech Tickets

  • Support distribution of Chromebook and Wi-Fi hotspots

  • Provide support for hardware and software issues
