World Languages

Welcome to the World Languages Department at UHS! We offer a robust four-year program, including Advance Placement. We have excellent classes in Chinese, French and Spanish. Start a new adventure as you learn to read, write, and speak in a new language! Take virtual field trips to different countries and learn about the cultures where the language is spoken. We offer Spanish for Heritage Speakers for students who know some Spanish. Are you interested in working in the medical field? We offer Medical Spanish III which is linked with the UHS Science Health Academy. Here you will learn vocabulary specifically used in the medical field. Do you want your Academic record to stand out? Earn the Seal of Biliteracy. The Seal of Biliteracy recognizes students who are proficient in two or more languages by graduation. The Seal of Biliteracy can be evidence of skills that are attractive to college admissions offices and to future employers. The UC and CSU systems require two years of the same World Language, although three years is highly recommended.
