Study advice from teachers who passed:
I made flashcards out of the vocabulary list that BPS shared in a folder with me. I studied small stacks (15-25) words at a time. After a few days I mastered one small stack so then I mixed that stack in with a new pile. This allowed me to feel success with the words I knew while advancing on a new pile. Personally I am not a very good audible learner, much more of a visual, learner so I didn't have others test me until the very last couple days before the test so that I would remember them best.
I mixed up the vocabulary work with:
1) Locomotor skill progression - stages of development
2) Learning stages/types
3) Essay Prep - read through all the essay question examples I could find (even from other states) and came up with my own games and plan. Ex: Cooperatives/Teamwork was an essay on both tests that I took so I came up with a pre-planned set of games and backup reasoning of why my particular game was beneficial.
Test Day:
I started on my essay first and then did the multiple choice after. Seemed to wear off my jitters and gave me a better sense of time. If there were multiple choice questions that helped support/clarify the essay questions I could just go back and edit as necessary, instead of trying to retain the information until the end.
I also flagged ALL questions that I was super unsure about - not only so that I could go back and try to have new inspiration of the right answer, but it also gave me a better idea of how well I might have done or at least TRY to remember what I needed to follow up on since they don't tell you in the results which ones you didn't get correct.
