Online Guide for Participants

A. Conference PreparationsPlease read carefully the instructions below to help you prepare for the conference.

Before the Conference1. Prepare the following that you will use for the conference: a. Stable internet connectionb. Laptop, desktop computer, tablet, or smartphone installed with the following:
For participants who will orally present their research:

1. - Speaker
  - Microphone
  - Webcam
  - Presentation software like MS Powerpoint, Keynote, or Google Slides

For all participants:

1. - Zoom (You may download it from App Store, Playstore, and/or https://zoom.us/download)

2. Install and get familiarized with Zoom Webinar. Read/Watch the following for more information:

3. Register and wait for our confirmation email.

Note that the Zoom link, ID and passcode that will be provided to you are unique to you so DO NOT share it with anyone.

B. Joining the Conference Plenary Sessions and Panel Presentations (for Nov. 14-15 AM sessions)
1. Before logging in, make sure that you are in a well-lit and quiet room, with plain or non-distracting background. Have also a notepad and pen, and drinking water by your side to prevent you from leaving the screen to get these things during the sessions.2. Click on the “Join Webinar” button or Zoom link sent to you after your registration. Log in to your Zoom account if prompted.

You may also manually join by clicking the “Join” button in the Zoom application and typing the webinar ID and password.

3. Wait for the conference organizers to accept you into the meeting.

Plenary Sessions and Panel Presentations House Rules

Participants will automatically be muted upon entering the Zoom webinar.
For questions and/or clarifications, type them in the “Q&A” box. These will be addressed during the open forum. You may also click on the “Raise Hand” button should you wish to speak. Wait for the presenter or facilitator to recognize you before unmuting your mic. You will then be allowed to speak.
The conference will be recorded. By joining the event, you are automatically giving your consent to such recording.
Everyone is expected to conduct themselves on a professional level. The conference organizers reserve the right to remove any participant for any reason they deemed inappropriate.

C. Joining the Concurrent Oral Paper Presentation (for Nov. 14 PM session)

Before logging in, make sure that you are in a well-lit and quiet room, with a non-distracting environment. Have also a notepad and pen, and drinking water by your side to prevent you from leaving the screen to get these things during the sessions.

Log in to Zoom and access the webinar. You may either click the Zoom link that will be given to you or manually join by clicking the “Join” button and typing the meeting ID and password to be given before the conference.

3. Wait for the conference organizers to accept you into the meeting.

Please DO NOT share the Zoom link, meeting ID, and passcode with anyone. Only conference registrants will be allowed to enter the concurrent sessions.

Concurrent Session House Rules

During the session, please turn off your microphone, except when asked to speak.
To have a better experience, please turn on your video.
Select the “Speaker View” to see clearly the speakers/facilitators and the shared screen.
The Chat feature of Zoom will be enabled. Should you have questions, clarifications, and/or other concerns that you wish to raise to the presenters and/or facilitators, you may type them in the chatbox. You may also use the “Raise hand” button but wait for the presenter or facilitator to recognize you before unmuting your mic. You will then be allowed to speak.
Everyone is expected to conduct themselves on a professional level. The conference organizers reserve the right to remove any participant for any reason they deemed inappropriate.

D. Conference Reminders

Don’t forget to sign in the attendance sheet for each conference day.
Please rename your Zoom name using the following format: SchoolAcronym_First Name and Last Name (example: UP_Juan dela Cruz)
The link to the training evaluation form will be provided during the second conference day.
Participants who will accomplish the evaluation form will be given a Certificate of Participation. Poster and oral presenters will also receive a Certificate of Recognition.

E. Data Privacy Notice
This online conference collects the personal data of the participants, such as names and contact information, to provide access to, and facilitate the event. These personal data may be used for future communications, such as in inviting for future home economics-related events. It is ensured that none of these data will be disclosed to third parties.
This conference will be recorded for educational purposes only. All sessions, access credentials, and materials are confidential. No part of this conference may be reproduced and/or shared without the consent of the lead organizers, the College of Home Economics, University of the Philippines Diliman. In case of wrongful receipt of the access credentials and materials, and unauthorized access to the online conference, the organizers will ask the concerned individuals to permanently delete all information received, and to leave the online conference.
