This year's Skills Workshop aimed at helping participants prepare visually effective materials for science communication. Ms. Ma. Louella P. Tinio, a communiciations specialist who worked in previous TCAGP projects such as Project MapABLE and Project AiRMoVE, delivered a short lecture on effective visual communication and facilitated a workshop on scientific poster preparation where the students drafted a poster based on their previous capstone projects.

This semestral event provides the Department and the students a chance to discuss the latest updates and announcements on academic guidelines and other activities. In this town hall, we have invited representatives from the Engineering Student Council and the University Student Council to share updates on issues relevant to the student body. This semestral event provides the Department and the students a chance to discuss the latest updates and announcements on academic guidelines and other activities. In this town hall, the Department shared with the students relevant information on the upcoming Quality Assurance and accreditation of the BS GE program. To empower our students with the skills to create better data visualization techniques which can complement their research, the Department organized a Skills Workshop on Data Visualization and Storytelling. Engr. Ben Joseph J. Harder, Senior Data Scientist at Lista Bookkeeping, Inc. and also UPDGE alumnus, shared great insights and tips on how to make effective and impactful visualizations to communicate compelling stories through data.

Continuing the semestral town hall meeting to engage with our BS GE students. Reminders, events, and other opportunities were discussed during the event.

Students who were not able to conduct as much F2F field activities due to the pandemic were invited to have a bridging program on the use of various instruments and equipment: total station, GNSS, and drone.

Aug 3, 2023 | Engineering Theater. New First Year Students (NFYS) Orientation for the advance registration and overall BS GE program. The pre-advising happened (face-to-face and online options available) last August 4. The NFYS had their advance registration with the OUR on August 7 (online).

Undergraduate students competed in 3 categories: Oral Presentation, Thesis Proposal Posters, and Map Posters. Judges from the research and industry fields evaluated the winners who will win cash prizes from our sponsors. The participants and winners are listed in the event page.
Back to face-to-face! The department continued the kamustahan tradition. For the first time ever since the first Kamustahan, the students and faculty met face-to-face.

A town hall meeting to discuss the Department plans for 2nd Sem, 22-23 related to F2F and other matters related to student affairs in preparation for the semester. The town hall also presented the GE 200 Guidelines, and block sections and schedules for the coming semester. Updates from the GE representative and student organizations were also presented.

An online workshop to train 30 undergraduate students in skills that are not taught in the BS GE curriculum by default. For this edition, the committee, through a sensing survey, organized the Web Maps Creation workshop. Invited speakers are Engr. Dominic Fargas Jr. and Engr. Katelene Panlilio; they are both UP TCAGP Project LUNGSOD researchers.
Total attendees: 25 students
A town hall meeting to discuss department, student representatives, and student organization events and updates; this also serves as a venue for raising concerns, issues, and other clarifications from students live or through the GE Representatives' Pre-Kamustahan event.
July 26, 2022. Online orientation for our incoming BS GE freshmen this 2022. The faculty members introduced the Department, the BS GE program, and discussed about the advising and support services of the Department, College and University. The learning modes, limited face-to-face, and Advance Freshmen Registration details and procedures were also discussed.

July 22, 2022. An online meeting to launch the DGE Handbook on the Conduct of Classes for 1st Sem, 22-23 which contains the different learning delivery modes of the courses offered by the Department and their requisites. The UStAC also discussed the classes and modes per year level and the Instrument Room Rules and Regulations. The F2F requirements for the classes for the 1st semester, 22-23 are also discussed.

Candido; they are both UP TCAGP researchers and experts in Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry.

The Second Semester, A.Y. 2021-2022 Kumustahan last March 21 was an assembly of faculty, students, and parents for the consultation of the face-to-face activities. The implementing rules and regulations, and facilities management scheme of the department were presented with the different University requirements from the students and faculty.
March 19, 2022. The Geomatics Student Project Colloquium gathers undergraduate and graduate students of the UP Department of Geodetic Engineering to present and get feedback on their current or proposed research projects. The Department would like to invite its undergraduate and graduate students to join the colloquium.
A Midsemester celebration of the DGE community to bond and relax. UStAC, together with the GE Representative, organized games and prizes for the students and faculty to enjoy. A total of PHP 6,000.00 were given as games and raffle prizes.
August 27, 2021. An orientation to welcome and prepare our new BS Geodetic Engineering students for the Department and their college life. The department, curriculum, facilities, and processes were discussed with the freshmen students. The department also launched its ConSURGE program which aims to provide financial support to our students.
