PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Educational Grants for Extension Workers (EdGE) is the provision of scholarships for Graduate Degree Programs, specifically Master’s and Doctorate Degrees, for deserving and capable AEWs from the Department of Agriculture (DA), State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and Local Government Units (LGUs) to pursue higher education towards AF.
GOAL
The program ultimately aims to empower the AEWs with opportunities for career development and develop a pool of community management professionals and subject matter specialists on social and production technologies through the provision of degree scholarships.
OBJECTIVES
The Educational Grants for Extension Workers (EdGE) aims to produce a pool of professionals, competitive and well-equipped extension workers that are ready to serve the AF sector.
Specifically, the scholarship shall:
Provide subsidy for the completion of degree courses of capable and deserving AEWs; and
Capacitate them in providing excellent and competitive extension delivery services.
The program is offered for both MS and PhD students in full-time and part-time terms. The financial support provided for the scholars are as follows:
