Academic Year 2020-2021

Established in 2012, the annual Darnay Demetillo Artist Award (DDAA) is both a recognition of exemplary artistic work by a UP Baguio Fine Arts student as well as an encouragement for young artists to be honest and serious about their craft which is what the late UPB Fine Arts Professor Darnay Demetillo had always tried to teach his students. While acknowledging the originality and artistic integrity of students’ works, the DDAA is given not as part of an art competition, which makes the recognition unique. A guest jury selects the awardee from a shortlist of nominees named by the UPB Fine Arts faculty.
The DDAA 2021 Jury
This year's jurors are Roberto Acosta (full-time terracotta artist and former UP Baguio Fine Arts faculty), Tessa Maria Guazon (UP Diliman Art Studies professor and curator), and Kelly Ramos (visual artist, writer and curator).
