Dangwa: Bulaklak at Kulidangdang
Acrylic on canvas
23 x 23 inches
February 2021
This piece shows that we bloom beautifully with our background in culture. Kulidangdang is a form of weaved cloth pattern which represents butterflies.
Paper Roses
Acrylic on canvas
18 x 24 inches
April 2021
This piece was inspired by my grandmother who always sings Paper Roses during karaoke. It is more of a memory for me because her thoughts are now leaving her like the travelling paper cranes.
Corporate Ladder
Mixed media assemblage
48 inches high
April 2021
The idea was to create a corporate ladder, with its employees, using popsicle sticks and scale model figures. This ladder does not have any use and it shows how most of these workers are in their own squares. After creating this it looked like the employees were like fighting spiders, which is funny, as employees do sometimes fight each other for a higher part of the ladder.
