On behalf of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), I extend my warmest greetings to the guests and participants of the 11t^{h A}sian Network of Research Resource Centers Meeting.

The event’s focus on biodiversity conservation, biotechnology, and medicine is very timely, given the challenges that we are collectively facing regarding the responsible use of environmental resources while ensuring the welfare of current and future generations. We look forward to a lively interchange of knowledge and information on bioresource centers (BRCs) and their roles in the conservation of biological resources; their applications in agro-industry, environmental remediation, and health; as well as laws, regulations, guidelines, best practices, and international standards for the management of BRCs.

We trust that the guests and participants will take this opportunity to forge even stronger partnerships and collaborations. Likewise, we hope that everyone can take some time to simply enjoy the fresh air and green surroundings that UPLB is famous for.
