My Engagement with community Beyond the Classroom

The University of Duhok's commitment to community engagement deeply resonates with me.  I believe that universities should not exist in isolation, but rather serve as vibrant hubs that actively contribute to the social, political, and cultural fabric of their surroundings.

Here, I'd like to share some of the ways I strive to bridge the gap between academia and the wider community:

• Engaging with Local Leaders:  Maintaining open dialogue with local politicians is crucial for understanding the challenges and opportunities facing our region.  I regularly meet with government officials to discuss pressing issues and offer insights informed by my research and expertise.

• Parliamentary Engagement:  The halls of parliament are where policy takes shape.  I have been privileged to offer advice and analysis on various critical issues to parliamentary bodies, ensuring that informed decision-making is at the forefront.

• Conflict Resolution:  A peaceful and prosperous society requires effective conflict resolution mechanisms.  I am committed to playing a role in facilitating dialogue and promoting understanding within our community whenever possible.

• Media Engagement:  Reaching a broad audience is essential for raising awareness of critical issues.  I actively participate in television interviews and panel discussions, sharing my knowledge and perspectives with the public.

• Interfaith Dialogue:  Understanding and respecting diverse religious beliefs is fundamental to a cohesive society.  I believe in fostering open communication and collaboration among religious leaders to promote interfaith harmony.
