What Equipment is Needed to Do a Trash Assessment

1. Orange safety vest: We need to wear a safety vest so we are visible to cars.
2. Camera: We need a camera to take pictures of trash we see for evidence of our findings.
3. Measuring wheel: We need a measuring wheel to measure the transect lines in each of our sections.
4. Trash bag: we need a trash bag to put the trash in as we work in a section.
5. Gloves: we need gloves so we don’t get our hands dirty or contaminated.
6. Trash grabber: we need a trash grabber so we can pick up the trash we find on the ground.
7. Clipboard: We need clipboard to put our papers and maps on and it allows us to write our findings while we are outside.
8. Colored Sharpies: To color the trash level on our maps.
9. Trash Assessment Form: We need the assessment form to record our data.

10. Reusable water bottle: Your going to need a water bottle so you don't get dehydrated.
