The Purpose:
The importance of doing a trash assessment is that we can see how much trash we have on campus. Also, doing a trash assessment allows us to think of ways to help reduce the trash on campus. Furthermore, the less trash we have the healthier the environment will be.
Miss Smith mentors 6th graders in determining the level of an area they just assessed.
This year is out baseline year, because it is our first year doing a trash assessment. As we do our trash assessment each year we will be able to see what is working to reduce trash and litter and come up with more ideas to help reduce litter on campus.
