The SALSA consortium is pleased to announce the official establishment of the SALSA Advisory Panel, an important milestone that will support the project throughout its implementation.
The Advisory Panel brings together a group of internationally recognized experts with complementary backgrounds spanning plant science, microbiology, biotechnology, sustainable agriculture, bioeconomy, innovation management, and knowledge transfer. This multidisciplinary composition reflects the broad scope of the SALSA project and ensures that scientific excellence is complemented by practical, industrial, and societal perspectives.
Throughout the project, the panel will provide independent advice on scientific and technical activities, contribute to the assessment of project progress, and offer strategic recommendations to maximize the impact of SALSA's research and innovation outcomes. Their expertise will help the consortium address emerging challenges, strengthen collaboration across disciplines, and align project developments with the needs of stakeholders and end users.
The establishment of such a diverse advisory body represents an important asset for the project. By combining expertise from different scientific fields and sectors, the panel will contribute to enhancing the quality, relevance, and long-term sustainability of the solutions developed within SALSA, ultimately supporting the project's ambition to promote more sustainable and resilient agricultural systems.
A significant part of the Advisory Panel was made possible thanks to the UNITA – European University Alliance. The strong academic and research networking fostered by UNITA enabled the consortium to establish valuable international connections, bringing together experts from different institutions and disciplines. These collaborations exemplify how European university alliances can facilitate knowledge exchange, strengthen research cooperation, and create opportunities that extend well beyond individual projects.
The SALSA consortium warmly welcomes all Advisory Panel members and looks forward to working closely with them over the coming years. Their guidance and expertise will play a key role in ensuring that the project delivers scientifically robust, innovative, and impactful results for the European bioeconomy and sustainable agriculture.
