From promising ingredients to effective crop protection solutions

SALSA transforms the resources identified and obtained from tomato side streams into innovative bio-based solutions for sustainable agriculture. Through laboratory screening, controlled experiments and formulation development, SALSA investigates three complementary approaches: biopesticides, biostimulants and Biological Control Agents (BCAs)

Biopesticides

Bio-based ingredients targeting important crop pests and pathogens while reducing reliance on conventional pesticides.

Biostimulants

Natural formulations designed to support plant growth, nutrient use and resilience to environmental stresses.

BCAs

Beneficial microorganisms investigated for their ability to suppress plant pathogens and support sustainable crop protection.

What we are targetting?

SALSA evaluates its bio-based formulations on tomato and grapevine, targeting major crop diseases while also investigating their ability to improve plant growth, defence responses and resilience to stress.
