I am so excited to begin my 21st year of teaching; however, this is my first year at Parkside Junior High School. Coming from a family of teachers, I always knew teaching was for me and I love having the opportunity to work with students. As the Resource teacher on the Y Team, I get to work with students in a variety of ways. Every day I will be co-teaching Advisory, Lit/Comp, Language Arts, and Math, along with teaching both a literacy and math intervention group.
I graduated from Illinois State University and immediately began teaching high school English. It was only during the pandemic that I decided to return to school to earn my Masters in Special Education from Greenville University.
When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my family. My husband works in Illinois State Athletics, so we are big Redbird fans! We have two daughters, Adalynn and Kennedy, and the most spoiled dog, Griff. Our girls are involved in softball, volleyball, and cheerleading, and I even get to coach my youngest daughter's softball team. When I am not cheering on the Redbirds or busy with my girls' activities, I enjoy reading, shopping, Disney, drinking Diet Coke, and watching Hallmark movies.
I am looking forward to the year ahead!
