I am so excited to begin my 22nd year of teaching. Coming from a family of teachers, I always knew teaching was for me and I love having the opportunity to work with students. As the Resource teacher on the Y Team, I get to work with students in a variety of ways. Every day I will be co-teaching Advisory, ELA, and Math, along with teaching both literacy and math intervention groups during Learning Lab.
I graduated from Illinois State University and immediately began my career as a high school English teacher. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I made the decision to return to school, earning my Master's degree in Special Education from Greenville University.
Now, as the 2026–2027 school year begins, I am once again taking on the role of student. This time, I am pursuing a degree in Assistive Technology through the University of Illinois Chicago.
When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my family. My husband works in Illinois State Athletics, so we are big Redbird fans! We have two daughters, Adalynn and Kennedy, and the most spoiled dogs, Griff and Benny. Our girls are involved in softball, volleyball, and cheerleading, and I even get to coach my youngest daughter's softball team. When I am not cheering on the Redbirds or busy with my girls' activities, I enjoy reading, shopping, Disney, drinking Diet Coke, and watching Hallmark movies.
I am looking forward to the year ahead!
