Hello! My name is Mrs. Kaufman, and I will be your Social Studies teacher this school year. I graduated with my degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in Social Studies and Language Arts from Northern Illinois University. I earned my Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Eastern Illinois University. I am entering my 21st year of teaching. I taught kindergarten for seventeen years and second grade for three years. I student taught Social Studies, Reading, and Language Arts; I am looking forward to returning to my teaching roots.

As for family life, I am married to my college sweetheart. He is also a teacher at Parkside Junior High. He teaches 8th grade Math on the N-Team. We have three children: Owen (16), Olivia (13), and Oakley (10). They are students at Normal West, Parkside Junior High, and Prairieland. All three play travel baseball/softball, and keep us very busy with practices and games, which I enjoy watching! When I am not at the ball fields, I love to play with our dogs Stanley and Dunkin. Stanley is a Pomeranian and almost a year old. Dunkin is a Chihuahua and only two months old. I also enjoy reading nonfiction and playing board games. 

I am looking forward to our year together!
