In rural river delta Vietnam, clean water access for sanitation is a serious problem because only 34.8% to 51% of households have access to clean water, with 2,600 households in Hanoi needing hygiene support, including toilets. The lack of sanitation can lead to poor hygiene, getting sick often, leading to more school absences, and trapping families in poverty. Approximately 31 million people in rural areas lack safe drinking water, often contaminated with harmful bacteria, causing high rates of gastrointestinal illnesses. This situation relates to Sustainable Development Goal 6.2.1, which aims for universal access to safe water. Economic and geographical barriers, including inadequate infrastructure and higher transport costs, hinder access in rural regions. Addressing these issues is crucial for improving health and livelihoods. Our goal is to provide people who live in the river delta with cheap but valuable filters to prevent skin illnesses.
