One of the biggest issues of this problem is the sustainable management of natural resources. In Vietnam, significant amounts of single-use products are being wasted, 3.1 million tons yearly. Not only Vietnam but other countries are also dealing with this problem currently. Of this 3.1 million tons of single-use waste, 72% is plastic but only 11-12% is being recycled and reused while most are burnt or buried under the ground. The overproduction of single-use items not only consumes vital resources but also worsens global pollution as they burn the single-use products and bury them which could be eaten by animals. This impacts ecosystems, human health, and communities dependent on these resources, underlining the urgent need for sustainable alternatives. Organizations such as FREITAG are contributing to tackling this issue by transforming waste into daily-use bags. These efforts align with SDG 12, fostering responsible consumption and production, leading to unspotted environments and healthier communities. It is mentioned that by 2030, achieve sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources.
