From phase equilibria to the computational design of novel strategies for the treatment of fluorinated greenhouse gases

Fèlix Llovell is a Chemical Engineer with a PhD in Computational Thermodynamics carried out at the Spanish National Research Council. He later worked at Imperial College London (UK) before coming back to Spain to join several institutions, leading the Engineering and Simulation of Environmental Processes Research Group. In late 2020, he joined Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona, Spain) as Associate Professor. His expertise is on the application of molecular modeling tools for the thermophysical characterization of compounds, so as to develop appropriate strategies to understand the behavior of complex systems, for different industrial applications, with a major focus on greenhouse gas treatments. His work has been recognized in recent years being selected among the best 25 world emerging investigators on Chemical Thermodynamics by the Journal of Chemical and Engineering Data, as well as receiving the Young Researcher Award at the PPEPPD conference.
