Martín Aznar Award

Martín Aznar (in memoriam) was a Professor at the School of Chemical Engineering of Unicamp, devoting to teaching and researching in the field of phase equilibria thermodynamics, particularly in liquid-liquid equilibrium experimental determination and in the thermodynamic modeling of pahse equilibria using equations of state and activity coefficients models. Prof. Martín Aznar, who contributed so much to this field, has left a lasting legacy of excellence in the Thermodynamic Brazilian community, especially in the creation and growth of the Brazilian Conference on Applied Thermodynamics (CBTermo).

The award will be given to a graduate student whose research work in Thermodynamics is presented at the Brazilian Conference on Applied Thermodynamics (CBTermo 2022), aiming at promoting quality research in Thermodynamics in the region and the education of talented people in the field. The candidate to the award shall present his/her work in a poster session, which will be evaluated by the Award Selection Committee, previously established by the CBTermo 2022 Scientific Committee. The Selection Committee will consider the presentation, but also the quality of the work, the candidate's curriculum vitae, and the recommendation letter written by the supervisor.

Application:

Graduate students (or those who defended after October, 2021), whose work has been accepted for poster presentation at CBTermo 2022, are eligible and welcome to apply to Martín Aznar Award. The nominations need to be submitted by the supervisor, who can nominate up to two students from his/her group. To nominate your candidate, please send before October 1st, 2022 to equifase2022@unicamp.br both the candidate's curriculum vitae and a recommendation letter.
