NEW ACQUISITIONS FOR SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF POPILLIA JAPONICA

The 30th of November 2022, at 09:00 a.m. took place the techincal meeting entitled "New acquisitions for a sustainable management of Popillia Japonica". For the GESPO Project Prof. Gianni Gilioli (UNIBS) talked about the invasion ecology of Popillia Japonica, Dr. Giorgio Sperando (UNIBS) presented a set of tools supporting the management of Popillia japonica", Dr. Giacomo Santoiemma (UNIPD) discused about the sustainable practices for the management of P. japonica larvae at the nursery and landscape level, and Prof. Nicola Mori (UNIVR) discussed about the integrated control of adults and the development of innovative strategies against larvae.

Giacomo Santoiemma (UNIPD) with the presentation " Impact of the invasion of Popillia japonica on the communities of nematode pathogens and scarab".

AIM: to provide the three phytosanitary services (Lombardy, Piedmont and Ticino) with an update on the current situation, control strategies and possible synergies with respect to Quarantine Bodies and exchange information on the state of the art of research on these issues.
