An artifact that displays my professionalism is my resume that I have built. Through the tips that I have received from the UNC Charlotte Career Center, I have learned how to properly build a resume that shows professionalism. Future employers look for knowledgable key words on resumes that provide a hint of professionalism when looking to hire employees. This is a perfect way to show companies that I am a professional. One concept that I have learned is that it is not only important to have a perfect resume but it shows your level of professionalism by always providing interviewers with your resume. It is important to bring a resume to any interview I may have so that employers can put a face to the resume they have previously read in my application.
Another artifact that has helped to develop my professional skills is an interview that I was assigned in HSMT 2103. This interview was between my group and Lacrissa Johnson of the Student Health Center at UNC Charlotte. This gave us the opportunity to ask questions that we had to come up with to learn about the the health profession that they hold. I learned about how Mrs. Johnson has the opportunity to show professionalism in her job. One task that she deals with is Student Blue insurance. For this, she told us that she has to always be professional because sometimes she has to charge people for visits that can hardly afford to come, but she cannot treat one student different than another.
