Course Reflection
This essential course has taught me how to successfully execute a professional interview. As a double major in Health Systems Management and Communications with a concentration in Health, this class has helped to link the two majors together in a very interesting way. Taking verbal skills learned from this course, as well as the knowledge learned about healthcare, I feel as though this course has successfully prepared me for graduation, and the next chapter of my life. Through the constructive criticism received on the interview questions asked, I believe that Professor Fardella has thoroughly prepared my classmates and I for professional interviews in the healthcare world. I believe that this course is essential in starting to build the foundations necessary for healthcare. Professor Fardella and our Teaching Assistant Holyn cared a lot about the success of their students by helping us to understand current events within healthcare, outside of Covid-19.This capstone course is the perfect cherry on top for Health Systems Management major.
Research Paper Reflection
The research paper that my class was assigned this summer was about healthcare burnout among individuals within healthcare systems. This paper showed the true light on what healthcare employees go through on a daily basis within their professional life. I believe that it is very important for students planning to go into the field to be educated on this matter so that we can become the leaders that end healthcare burnout among these organizations. If we do not open our eyes and see the problem with healthcare burnout, we will not have the ability to be successful leaders within our field. Through this paper, we are educated on the background of healthcare burnout and are ready to be the change in healthcare. I believe that this paper is a tool that each health systems management student should keep with them and refresh themselves with throughout their career in healthcare.
