NOTES
The only course that is restricted to IDST majors is the required methods course (IDST 3100)
This major requires at least 18 hours of complementary coursework in a disciplinary field of study. This may be a minor in a traditional department (such as history, political science, English, sociology, anthropology, or communication studies) or an alternative course of study approved by the Director of Interdisciplinary Studies.
No more than two courses (6 hours) from another declared major can count toward the student’s Interdisciplinary Studies major.
The Film Studies Program includes the Film Studies Minor and the Undergraduate Certificate in Video Production, both of which are designed to provide students meaningful entry points which enhance their primary degrees and launch their professional advancement through the utilization of film as an art form, conduit of popular culture, community-building tool and agent of change.
Concentrations:
Capitalism Studies
Health and Medical Humanities
Women's and Gender Studies
Film and Media Production
Gerontology
Transient Study
Students in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences are not permitted to take courses at another educational institution in the Fall or Spring semester if they are enrolled full-time (12 credits or more) at UNC Charlotte in the same semester, unless it is a course not offered at UNC Charlotte (e.g., American Sign Language).
