Quality Improvement

PAID TIME OFF (PTO)

  • PTO needs to be requested at least 4 weeks in advance.  For questions about PTO please refer to the PTO policy or contact Alex Sandberg (sandb145@umn.edu).

  • Requests for PTO are made through Amion

    • For help requesting PTO through Amion, you can see this page on the Amion site.

  • Refer to the PTO tracker in your personnel folder in Google Drive to view how many PTO days you have used and requested

  • To miss a shift without using PTO, you can swap with another resident. See this video for details.

Career Enrichment days

    • Residents can take up to 5 days per year to use for Advocacy,  Community Engagement & Career Enrichment. 

    • You can use this form to make that kind of request.


Advocacy Days Policy

Residents needing to take a Leave of Absence (LOA) from the program must contact:

  • Program Director: Emily Borman-Shoap

    • Will set up brief meeting to discuss how leave plans will affect their training and offer general support.

  • Leave of Absence Coordinator: Alex Sandberg

    • Will set up a time to discuss the details of your leave.
