In 2023, the Youth Health and Housing Lab worked on a project to update the National Runaway Safeline (NRS) Runaway Prevention “Let’s Talk” curriculum and adapt their Crisis Prevention training to be used with diverse audiences working with youth in crisis. A companion youth workbook and Crisis Prevention training facilitator manual were also developed. 

The Lab worked with youth, youth-serving agencies and the NRS to pilot and evaluate both curricula and associated materials. The evaluation included focus groups and brief surveys with youth and key partner agencies, which were used to further adapt the program in real time.
