Resident/Fellow Conversations With Applicants

The Advisory Group hosts annual meetings during the fall/winter season for prospective residents and fellows.

For the 2026 appointment year, applicants to UMN residency and fellowship programs with interest in diversity, equity and inclusion issues are invited to attend the monthly GME DEI Advisory Group's meeting on December 3. The meeting features breakout sessions facilitated by current residents and fellows for candid and confidential conversation about topics such as what is life in Minnesota like, what is the climate for LGBTQIA-identifying physicians, what do International Medical Graduates experience, and what people might expect in the workplace.

While our applicant-specific meetings have passed, candidates currently interviewing for fellowships or anyone interested in learning more are always welcome join our monthly DEI Advisory Group meetings.
