Reading and writing in online courses can present a number of challenges, especially when it comes to fostering and maintaining an interactive learning environment where students discuss assigned readings and use that discussion as a springboard for their own writing. In this panel, instructors will share how they have used social annotation in their online classes to foster reading and writing and as a means for students to demonstrate and share their understanding of complex ideas.
