Jeff Miller, MD

Jeffrey Miller is a distinguished medical professional who has dedicated his career to researching and treating cancer. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Masonic Cancer Research Center, the Roger L. and Lynn C. Headrick Family Chair in Cancer Therapeutics, and the Section Head of BMT and Cell Therapy since 2021. Dr. Miller is also a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology, Oncology, and Transplantation at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Miller earned his B.S. in Engineering from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois (1981), and his Doctor of Medicine from Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois (1985). He completed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa (1985-1988), followed by a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the University of Minnesota (1988-1991).

Throughout his career, Dr. Miller has held various academic positions at the University of Minnesota and has been recognized for his contributions to cancer research and treatment. Some of his accolades include the University of Minnesota Medical Center's Medical Staff Award-Clinical Scholar/Research in 2009, the Dean’s Distinguished Research Lecture Award in 2014, and the National Cancer Institute Outstanding Investigator Award in 2015. He is a member of several prestigious medical societies such as the American Society of Hematology, the American Association of Immunologists, and the Society for Immunotherapy for Cancer.

Dr. Miller has served in numerous positions of leadership, including Director of the Cancer Center Translational Therapy Core, Co-Director of the Transplant Biology and Therapy Program, and Associate Director of Experimental Therapeutics at the Masonic Cancer Center. He has also been actively involved in committees, editorial boards, and as a reviewer for esteemed medical journals.

Board-certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners, the American Board of Internal Medicine, and the Medical Oncology and Hematology Subspecialty Boards, Dr. Miller holds licenses to practice medicine in Iowa and Minnesota. His dedication to research, education, and patient care has led to his recognition as one of the Best Doctors in America® and earned him numerous awards throughout his career.
