Maddie is broadly interested in studying human NK cells in health and disease. She is currently working on developing a more robust CAR-NK cell platform that can serve as the basis for an off-the-shelf therapy for a broad range of cancers. Prior to coming to UMN, she was a PhD student in the Immunology graduate program at Stanford University and conducted her doctoral research with Dr. Catherine Blish, where she studied the NK cell response to SARS-CoV-2. You can learn more about her research here.
When she's not in lab, you can find Maddie hiking, painting, reading science fiction, or hanging out with her cat, Minneapolis.
