Greenlight Program
The Greenlight Program:
Is a tactical career skills workshop designed for candidates from PTMBA, OMBA, CEMBA, PT-HRIR, Supply Chain, MABA, and MBT programs
Prepares students to be interview ready and conduct a job search in the near future. Greenlight also serves as preparation program for PTMBA, OMBA, CEMBA and PT-HRIR students who wish to participate in On-Campus Recruiting (OCR)
Is offered in January and March in a condensed, accelerated format via Zoom (2 evenings, 3 hours each night) and in the summer in a more extensive prework format with one in person night.
Review the PowerPoint on the right side of the screen to learn what you can expect with Greenlight
Participants learn:
How to develop a high-impact resume, cover letter and LinkedIn profile
Best tips and strategies for developing personal branding, networking and behavioral interviewing
How to successfully structure and execute a job search
When should you register for Greenlight?
PTMBA, OMBA and CEMBA students should participate in the program around the halfway mark of their program or when they have 3 semesters left
PT-MHRIR, Supply Chain, MABA, and MBT - please connect with your coach to identify the best time to participate in the program
Register here for the next session:
Note: Summer session is condensed and includes 5 hours of prework in the form of videos and activities AND an in person session on Tuesday, June 18th from 5pm-8pm.
The Greenlight Program includes 3 required components (January and May sessions):
Review career best practices
3 hours of prework
2. Apply career best practices
Attend a two-night synchronous Zoom Workshop where participants apply what they learned in prework (each night is 3 hours)
Coaching session
After participating in the workshop, participants schedule a resume review and job search strategy session with a CBCC coach
To make an appointment with a coach, go to Handshake and select a date/time that is most convenient for you. Appointments are available via Zoom, phone or face-to-face
Upon completion of these three requirements, you will get the "greenlight" to participate in On-Campus Recruitment (OCR)
*The Summer Greenlight Program is delivered in a condensed format which includes more prework but only one night of in person content application.
Career Exploration (optional but encouraged)
Recommend work for "Greenlighters" exploring multiple career options. While the following activities can be helpful to complete before the synchronous Greenlight workshops to help clarify career targets, career exploration activities can be completed afterwards. The key is to clarify career targets before applying to roles to avoid functions, companies and industries that aren't aligned with your interests, values, skills, strengths, etc.
Watch the career exploration webinar (46 minutes)
Meet with a CBCC coach - Schedule a coaching session through Handshake to discuss your past experience, current skills, and future goals. Formulate with the coach an overall exploration strategy and actionable steps curated to your career path
Watch the conducting career research video (15 minutes)
Take a career assessment - Career Leader is a career inventory that assesses your interests, motivations and skills to identify fitting functional business roles. Review additional career assessments featured on the CBCC site. Email the CBCC to request access to certain career assessments as noted on the assessment page or schedule a coaching appointment through Handshake to discuss with a coach which assessments fit your needs
Learn about common functional roles - Read through online resources, including Firsthand, Hedgehog Project, and Bureau of Labor Statistics to learn about functional areas that MBA/MS students frequently pursue. Below are links to CBCC documents about functional areas:
