Business Development Team
About Business Development
The Business Development (BD) team is an integral part of the Carlson Business Career Center. We work with employers to identify internships and full-time jobs for Carlson students. Our team cultivates employer relationships to source opportunities that are appropriate for students across Carlson’s Graduate programs.
The Business Development team identifies events for students to connect with employers. Events can include Information Sessions, Coffee Chats, Office Hours, and Site Visits. We also facilitate Job Postings on our student platform, Handshake, and manage On Campus Interviews with employers by scheduling resume drops, interview sign-ups, and interviews (in person or virtual).

Coffee with BD
“Coffee with BD” is a weekly event where students can meet with BD Team members by simply dropping by the Career Center table in the Carlson atrium (main floor). Throughout the academic calendar year, BD Team members are on hand on most Wednesdays from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm in the Carlson 1st floor atrium to answer questions about upcoming employer activities, talk generally about specific employers and/or roles and share learning from recent employer conversations. The conversations are intended to be casual – students can drop by to grab a cup of coffee and a treat while chatting with members of the BD team. If students desire a more in-depth, one-on-one conversation with a BD Team member, they can set up an appointment.
1:1 Meetings with the BD Team
If you have questions on specific roles or employers, you can schedule a meeting with the appropriate BD Team member. We can share information on areas such as details on a specific role you see posted for Carlson students, overall insights into an employer’s hiring approach, or hiring trends for a specific industry or function.
