Purpose
To recognize academic/professional personnel and administrative personnel for outstanding achievement in furthering the mission and goals of their unit(s) and/or CEHD.
Award
Recipient will receive a $1,500 award and a certificate presented at the CEHD Spring Assembly and Recognition event in April. Up to two awards may be presented each year to recognize eligible nominees, in different P&A roles. Ex. A P&A staff person who performs mainly academic work and a P&A staff person who performs mainly administrative work may both be presented an award in the same year if the work group deems that each individual’s work is sufficiently distinctive from the other individual’s. The Honors and Awards Work Group reserves the right to determine, in consultation with the dean, if one or two awards will be presented each year.
Eligiblity
CEHD P&A staff holding at least 75% time appointments may apply. Nominees must have at least three years in a P&A position in CEHD as of the due date for this year’s nomination. An individual may not receive this award more than once; however, previous nominees who have not received the award may be re-nominated. All nominees must be an active employee in good standing at the time of the dossier due date. Nominees must continue as employees in good standing in order to receive the award at the date of the spring assembly in April.
Criteria
Successful nominees should have demonstrated:
Excellence in leadership (e.g., organizational development, issues of diversity).
High professional standards.
Excellence in their positions while promoting and supporting the work of their unit(s) and/or the college.
Nomination documentation
Nomination materials are reviewed by individuals who may not be specialists in the nominee’s field. Successful nominations document how the experiences of the nominee meet the criteria of the award. It is strongly suggested that the letters specifically address the criteria in the order they are listed. Nomination forms
Reminder: all award nominations must be completed by February 28, 2025.
Selection process
Nominations will be reviewed by the CEHD Honors and Awards Committee, which will make a recommendation to the dean, who will make the final decision regarding the recipient of this award.
