Purpose
This award recognizes Civil Service/Bargaining Unit employees who have demonstrated excellence and professionalism in their overall performance and who have made meaningful contributions to their unit and/or CEHD and the University.
Award
The recipient will receive a $1,500 award and a certificate presented at the CEHD Spring Assembly and Recognition event in April. One award may be presented each year to an eligible nominee.
Eligibility
Full time (75% or greater) Civil Service/Bargaining Unit employees with a current appointment in the CEHD and who have completed at least one full, continuous year of service in the CEHD as of the due date for this year’s nominations, may be nominated. An individual may not receive this award more than once; however, previous nominees who have not received the award may be re-nominated. All nominees must be an active employee in good standing at the time of the dossier due date. Nominees must continue as employees in good standing in order to receive the award at the date of the spring assembly in April.
Criteria
Successful nominees will have exhibited operational excellence within a unit. Possible areas of operational excellence include, but are not limited to, one of these suggested categories:
Professionalism
Cost reduction
Operation improvement
Quality of job outcome
Quantity of job outcome
Procedure improvement
Customer service
Nomination documentation
Nomination materials are reviewed by individuals who may not be specialists in the nominee’s field. Successful nominations document how the experiences of the nominee meet the criteria of the award. It is strongly suggested that the letters specifically address the criteria in the order they are listed. Nomination forms
Reminder: all award nominations must be completed by February 28, 2025.
Selection process
Nominations will be reviewed by the CEHD Honors and Awards Committee, which will make a recommendation to the dean, who will make the final decision.
