Career Development Network
The purpose of the mentor program is to foster community, build relationships, and support professional development among career professionals at the U of M Twin Cities campus.
Based on information provided through the application, we do our best to match individuals with others of similar interest. We hope you take this opportunity to connect with colleagues across campus!
You can choose to participate in a traditional mentor-mentee relationship (as a mentor or as a mentee), or you can choose to participate in a peer mentoring relationship where you are matched with somebody who has about the same amount of experience as you.
The program will run from January through June each year! Based on information provided by your application, we will do our best to create pairings, including years of experience, the topics you are interested in, and identity (if requested).
The application for the Spring 2026 Mentorship program is open! The application will close on Friday, January 16.
The program will run from February-June 2026. You will be notified of your pairing the first week of the Spring 2026 semester and you can meet with your match as often as your schedules will allow and in a modality that works best. We encourage a monthly meeting to make the most of your time together. Monthly prompts will be provided as a launching point for your conversations.
New this year: There will be at least one in-person large group CDN Mentorship Program gathering for participants this spring as well.
This is a great opportunity for graduate students interested in the field. Also, please encourage colleagues new to the CDN community to join!
Email the CDN Board (CDNboard@umn.edu) with questions, or submit content for the CDN website, such as professional accomplishments, upcoming events, or professional resources to share. Have feedback about CDN? Let us know!
