The Career Development Network’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee’s purpose is to support and engage staff in reflecting on their own intersectional identities and their work in career development for all students - especially from historically marginalized backgrounds. We accomplish this by elevating the efforts and resources of stakeholders across the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities campus through monthly diversity and inclusion tips, professional development and programming.

The Employer Relations Committee exists to market career services broadly to the employment community. We recognize that many of our employer partners recruit across our colleges or campuses; we also recognize that there are many more employers in the community with whom we do not partner. We focus our work in the following ways:
Developing key messages
Marketing career services to small- to medium-sized businesses (SMB)’s; and asking how do we market to this group?
Analyzing what types of outreach can / should we be doing to be most effective
Balancing short-term, quick wins with bigger-picture ideas in our work

The Employer Survey Committee convenes to survey employers on a bi-annual basis to gather baseline information on employer expectation of career services, their view on our students’ job search skills, workforce preparation, and to identify the skills, qualities and experiences they most value when hiring.

The main responsibility of the Programming Committee (PC) is to plan the program portion of the Career Development Network's (CDN) monthly meetings, including planning and hosting two annual retreat meetings, which provide longer programming and networking opportunities for members. The topics covered in our meetings are determined by the members themselves, so it’s important for the PC to receive regular feedback / suggestions. The PC also schedules or promotes optional career development opportunities on campus outside of our monthly meetings.
