So that AI can generate artwork, the AI needs to have been previously provided a dataset. The AI finds patterns in the data set. In this case, the data set is images of artwork created by humans. Once the AI compiles the data, the data is stored and used when certain commands are given to the AI to fulfill a prompt.

To acquire all the art that is needed to generate the images, there undergoes a process called scraping, where companies and AI will gather photographs and illustrations off the internet to feed the AI for training.
