Our project explores the intersection of food insecurity and mental health among college students. Dive into anecdotes from our recent volunteer experiences in Ann Arbor, critiques of current interventions at the federal and university levels, and nuanced discourse about the compounding stressors experienced by food-insecure students. We are hopeful our listeners and readers take away greater knowledge of the mental health implications of food insecurity at the collegiate level, and are emboldened to learn more about available resources on campus.
We want to extend a special thanks to Food Gatherers and the Maize & Blue Cupboard for fostering informative interviews and meaningful volunteer experiences in our Ann Arbor community. We encourage continued exploration of these wonderful organizations through the attached links.
