The problem that I have chosen is staying organized in note-taking during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, especially international students who are taking courses abroad. I know about it due to the nature of taking classes from home and facing challenges of studying in different time zones. These aspects of the problem will give me some of the best insight into user needs because I decided on my research questions based on my analysis and experience studying remotely during unprecedented times. I think I would need access to university and college students, especially internationals from different backgrounds and countries in order to answer my questions. I could make sure that I have gotten appropriate perspective on the problem and have not included anyone who could eventually be impacted directly or indirectly by approaching the target from universities. In order to get the types of people I profiled, I recruit the audience on my own using existing contacts and from a wider population on campus. For mitigating bias, using existing contacts would be better than recruiting from a wider population based on selection bias because it depends on self-selection of participants; using existing contacts might be more likely to be included as participants than from a wider population.
