The PM&R Departmental DEI Committee focuses on DEI initiatives as an opportunity for continuous improvement, rather than as a response to an incident or arising issue. By focusing on DEI every day, we search for more ways to integrate DEI activities into our program and department. Our department over the year has hosted two DEI-centered Grand Rounds.
Fellow wellness is a top priority for the PRM program at Michigan Medicine. Our program offers a Wellness Lecture Series, supported by staff from the Office of Counseling and Workplace Resilience, a series focused on Professional Development to help support fellows in their long-term goals, and a number of initiatives established by the House Officers Association. Accommodating time for board preparation and studying, aligning work schedules with personal needs, and program leadership who prioritize opportunities to improve wellness at every opportunity are some of the many wellness-focused opportunities offered by PRM at Michigan Medicine.
