an hour and a half from being away from it all, in one of the many beautiful forests Michigan has to offer
four hours to the Upper Peninsula - one of the most untouched, pristine natural parts of the country
Lake Michigan at Portage Point
The Mighty Mac
Detroit from the Detroit River
Pictured Rocks in the Upper Peninsula

Dr. Ayyangar is an adventurer. She enjoys seeking out new things and experiencing all the area has to offer - the area being the entirety of the state! Some of her favorite restaurants include First Bite, a made-from-scratch, organic restaurant with excellent fingerling potatoes, Seva, a vegetarian restaurant with kung-pow cauliflower that is sure to please, and Sava's, whose Sunday Brunch is just amazing.
Dr. Ayyangar also enjoys parks in the area, such as Gallup Park and Lillie Park, as well as the Creature Conservancy, which is home to a number of really cool creatures, such as Bedhead and Lady Gaga, the African Crested Porcupines.
