CVRE faculty have a broad interest in areas of cardiovascular biology, including arrhythmia mechanisms, atherosclerosis, cardiomyopathies, stroke, vascular disease, thrombosis, heart failure, and bioengineering focused on device development, regenerative medicine and drug design for treating cardiovascular disease. Importantly, CVRE faculty have demonstrated previous experience in training individuals in comprehensive cardiovascular basic research training. Because of the highly collaborative nature of the CVRE faculty, all of the research laboratories can provide a broad range of advanced research training from molecular biology all the way to whole animal model research.
